So many things.

There are so many things that I want to say, but haven't got the energy to really say them.

We have been through so much in just two months. God has brought us to wonderful things and told us to wait. I think "wait" is the hardest thing to hear when you want something so bad. Its like saying here is an amazing [insert favorite dessert] ice cream sundae, you can eat the entire thing and even have more, if you want....but you have to wait until I say "eat". We have been presented with an "ice cream sundae", but told to look, not touch and wait; oh yeah, and patiently.

So what is the "ice cream sundae"?

Well, to call it a sundae is quite ridiculous, but the analogy works.

I will share the story another time, its quite a story. One that only God could write, but for now I will say little and leave the only words that matter. His Word.

Here is just a little...
We have been presented with a chance to increase our family through means of Adoption. An opportunity we cannot financially afford, but one our hearts are rich in desire for. So when we were approached by someone who would shoulder the financial burden in order that we could see our family increase, we were ecstatic.  We started the process to adopt internationally from Congo immediately.

The Lord has opened this door and our hearts have leaped through it. However, He has kept us from physically walking through this "door". As soon as He opened the door it shut. Our obedience in the "yes" was all that was required for now. For now we must wait. Clearly, and legally we see we will not be able to adopt in 2011. However, in our hearts a child has been born and we will bring him home.

"I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." John 14:18

Though it is difficult to hear "wait", we know it is for our good. We are confident in God's call and leading in our lives and because of this, in His Word we have found great hope while we "wait".

"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him." Psalm 37: 7a.

"The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way." Psalm 37:23

Even in opposition we pray and trust what he tells us:

"But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?" 1 John 3:17

"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has no been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us.
If anyone says 'I love God' and hates his brother, he is a liar, for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. An this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must love his brother." 1 John 4:18-21

"But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts." 1 Thes. 2:4

"For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self control. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God." 2 Tim. 1:7-8

"He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it." 1 Thes. 5:24

Our hearts are with you there, even as we wait in hope here.

"We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you."
Psalm 33:20-22

  1. Your submission to God's call on your family to ADOPT and now wait patiently on the Lord is beautiful and is already bringing Him much glory! We are joining with you in prayer and anticipation for the little one that God is growing in your hearts already! I know that feeling, and oh how we will REJOICE when God, in His timing, brings these children from our hearts into our HOMES! Love you so much friend!
