We had a very fun week with lots of activities that helped the two of them "bond".
It worked.
Mady LOVES my dad. Most kids do, but he really brought her out of her shell.
On this particular day we took Mady to the zoo. It was a perfect day. Temps in low 70s and the zoo was fully decked out for the Halloween Trick or Treating that happened in the evenings. So there wasn't too many people there so we could really enjoy ourselves without an agenda.
We found a Princess and a castle while at the zoo.
Because we have a zoo pass and go quite frequently the animals are exciting, but this trip was even MORE exciting because of all the fun characters they had up for Trick or Treat. Mady loved them all!
Here she is in front of the castle on a giant chair. I asked her to smile and she shrugged her shoulders too. So cute!
We also found an Owl. Which is our favorite right now. Her Birthday Party was Owl themed and her Halloween Costume is also an Owl. Maybe its really my favorite....but she likes it too!
Notice the leafs in each hand...in most pictures. She loves to hang on to something these days and walk with it. Especially leaves since Fall has began.
Shortness.
Another favorite, "Goriyas!"
Me and my Grandpa!!
One great memory I have from my childhood about my dad is that we ALWAYS were laughing.
Always.
He has a great sense of humor and we usual found a way to even find the most dire or mundane situations funny. Well, its not different with his Grandchildren.
He made her laugh constantly. She really enjoyed playing with Grandpa.
Sweet.
All that laughing and walking makes a girl thirsty!
She had a great time. Probably one of our best trips. We saw almost everything and she walked most of the zoo. So proud of my little 2 year old, big girl!
Lately if I want Mady to smile I ask her to "show me her teeth" and she will smile.
However, this back fired here. As you can see.
Haha!
I know its blurry, but man isn't it cute!!
She had a death grip on his hair, but she loved it!
Check out her Tiger purse!! So cute. Special gift from Grandpa!
We had a great day!
So many good memories shared.
Come back soon Grandpa, we miss you already!
